This half-day course is an exploration of sound and music in the digital realm. Students are introduced to the basic principles of sound, digital recording, and music theory, all in relation to real-world concepts and examples. As a primer for those interested in digital audio, but who may lack the background to jump into Avid Pro Tools 101 or Apple Logic 101, students will understand the conversion of sound to digital audio files, recognize the various components of a digital audio workstation, and gain a foundation of terminology used in music making and digital audio production.
