SNOW302 | Mac OS X Deployment 10.6
Deployment of Software to Large Scale Systems
Tap-Quiz
How does an installer package know whether an installation is a new or upgrade installation?
The installer checks for a receipt from a similar installation package.
Day 1

What's Covered
We learn how to create system images and installer packages, and easily deploy them to clients.
Will I be working with my own server?
Splice will provide you with one Mac to act as a server and another to act as a client.
How do I complete the certification?
In order to be an Apple Certified Specialist in Deployment you must successfully complete the Mac OS X Deployment 10.6 exam as well as be an Apple Certified Technical Coordinator. This course will prepare you for the Deployment exam. The exam is optional and costs $100 with the course, or $200 without the course or for re-writes.
This course is part of the path to becoming an Apple Certified System Administrator. In order to achieve this level of certification you must successfully complete the following exams: Mac OS X Server Essentials 10.6, Mac OS X Directory Services 10.6, Mac OS X Deployment 10.6 & Mac OS X Security and Mobility 10.6.
When can I write the exam?
You can write the exam after the course if you feel ready. If you've never used a Mac for deployment before, a lot of the material may be new so you might want the opportunity to study, then come back and take the test. When you buy the exam with the course you have one year to come in and write it at Splice.
Do I need the course, or can I just write the exam?
Apple certifications are very specific and rely heavily hands-on experience and in depth knowledge of the subject matter. It's highly recommended that you attend our course to prepare yourself for certification.
What book do I need? Is it an Extra Fee?
This course uses a bundle of two printed books: A Reference Guide and a Workbook. The bundle of books is only available from the publisher (Pearson Education) for purchase by Apple Authorized Training Centres.
We're charged $425 for the bundle, which is the price we charge our students. If you or your company (or friend) already owns the course book and workbook, bring it. We're not in the business of selling books, we're in the business of education.
