Job – Mac Expert (2010)

We’re on the hunt for some good people. We’re not rushing to get these amazingly great people, but we’d like to know if you’re out there. So, phone home, E.T., let us know you’re out there.

Mac Experts

You like to figure out how things work. You take things apart, experiment, put them back together and the next time you take it apart, you take it apart faster. You fix things. You take pride in leaving the campsite better than the way you left it. You’re organized and personable. You might be a bit nerdy, but you’re one of the new nerd generation, the Nerd 2.0s – or Snow Nerd – you play well with others, you’re a social creature and are a great communicator. People come to you when they need to know how something works, or something fixed, whether you want them to or not.

This is what we want – Is this you?

  • You love Macs, the Mac OS but can talk about it without coming across as condescending of PCs (much)
  • You have some experience in a customer service or technical support field
  • You’re looking for part-time work, with flexible hours possibly on days, evenings and weekends
  • You can communicate technical things in everyday terms, to everyday people
  • You can stay calm and collected, even if the person you’re dealing with is getting upset.
  • You have a sense of urgency at resolving technical issues
  • You genuinely enjoy helping, inspiring and impressing other people

Here’s a glimpse of what the job is about:

  • Providing personal training on Mac OS, iLife and Switching
  • People come to you with their problems, and you provide solutions, without placing blame
  • Troubleshooting and diagnosis of hardware and software problems
  • Juggling your training and support roles, ensuring things get fixed right the first-time, on-time
  • You work with the other Splice experts to ensure you’re right track, eliminating second-guessing

In the role of a Splice Expert, you’ll make a difference in people’s lives, with a welcome smile and the ability to just make things work. In many scenarios, you’ll even teach the person what wasn’t working and how you fixed it, so they can do the same in the future too.

Drop us a line. Include your resume, a cover-letter that’s customized just for us (no templates, thanks) and we’ll go from there.
