At Splice, we like to be on the cutting edge. Although the October 12 release date was just announced today, we’ve been quietly testing iOS 5 on our iPads and iPhones since June, and we love it.
Jackson’s favourite feature: the all-new Notification Center. “It’s the one feature that Android has historically been better at – and now Apple’s closed that gap.”
Alex can’t get enough of Wi-Fi Sync: “Up until now, you absolutely needed a computer to set up and back up your iPad. Now you can be backed up wherever you are, and new users can immediately get started with their brand new device.”
And Woody loves the new location-based Reminders. “I’ll park at the grocery store, and my iPhone immediately tells me what I need to pick up. How cool is that?”

You’ll make Calculator and RSS-reader apps, learn to use VoiceOver for accessibility, get access to GPS coordinates, and localize your app in multiple languages. The best part is, you’ll learn how to do all this on iOS 5, ready for public release on October 12.
IOS101 is now a mandatory course for CIBC’s mobile division, one of Mexico’s largest banks sent their entire development team to Halifax to take it, and many of Splice’s students have applied the skills learned in the course by creating and selling apps in the App Store world-wide.
iOS Developer courses taught by Splice are intensive and thorough; they typically run three to five days in length and are full day, hands-on courses taught in Halifax, Toronto and Vancouver. All instructors are experts in their fields, are fully certified and, when not teaching, provide consulting services to companies and end-users around the world.
